IRPStackSize Windows 2003 Servers and VSE 8.8 Patch 1

Just thought I would give you a heads up to an issue we ran into last night after deploying VSE 8.8 with patch 1 repost, on some of our windows 2003 server.  What we started seeing in the System Event log was event ID 2011.

The server's configuration parameter "irpstacksize" is too small for the server to use a local device. Please increase the value of this parameter.  We found the below link and applied it to several of our servers.

      http://support.microsoft.com/kb/177078/

After creating the registry and rebooting the server, it went away.

I called Platinum support and opened an SR. After working with them.  the support person, said he had not seen as of 8.5.  They said it was a Microsoft problem.  Our rep sent and email and said he looked through all of their enteral documentation and didn't see any fix or patch for this.  Strange that this didn't happen until 8.8 was deployed and that 8.7 didn't have the issue.  I attached the registry key I created.

Hope this helps someone who is having the same issue.

      Mike.
