I am using ePO 4 to manage VirusScan 8.5i (w/ patch 7) on 500 XP clients and 100 2000/2003 servers.
There is a specific file (with sensitive information in it) named spreadsheet.xls that resides on a number of these computers. Is there any functionality in VirusScan where I could configure it to delete this file when it is scanned?
Ideally, I would like it to search for strings in the file (the sensitive data itself) and delete it based on this, but I don't think that is possible without a signature. So, the simplest approach would probably be to do it based on the name of the file and then delete it. Does anyone know if this is possible?
By default VirusScan tries to desinfect any file and if it is not possile it deletes it but only if it is detected as a virus so I think you won't be able to delete a file if it's not detected as a virus
