Some times this is due to a virus infection on the machine, you should try to make an on-demand scan with the last dats and see if there's something strange on it.
If you haven't done it yet you may also install patch 1 for McAfee Agent (ma400p1win.zip)
Thanks for the help.
I did a scan 2 days ago, and it found 4 trojans. They're removed now. But still I got the same problem.
And where can I find the file ma400p1win.zip?
Do you use ePolicy Orchestrator to manage all VirusScan application in your network? Maybe you have set up policy to disable on-access scan?
Never heard of that program before, so unfortunatly no.
I downloaded malwarebytes and a-squared now for checking for viruses that mcafee haven't found yet, already found 3 trojans, 1 virus and 1 worm... (Viruses/trojans mcafee couldn't find)
You can find the patch for McAfee Agent at McAfee's site, under Management Solutions->McAfee Agent 4.0.0 using your grant number
Actually, it's not a patch (.msp) but a complete new distribution (.msi).
I still can't find the patch/distribution?
I looked on the site, googled it, but nowhere a site where I can download the agent.
Someone got the link? And will this solve my problem?
You have to login at McAfee's site with your grant number here:
This will solve some udate problems but if you are experiencing troubles with VSE and your computer had virus the best way is to reinstall VSE
I'm afraid I don't got a grant number... Because I downloaded mcafee (legal!) from a site of the university. Can I still get that grant number?
And if I want to uninstall mcafee and remove all files from it, do I just need to go to configurationscreen and go to programs? Do I also need a remove tool?
