McAfee Endpoint Encryption Fatal Error: [0xEE0D0001] Failed to read registry file

I just got the error:

"McAfee Endpoint Encryption Fatal Error: [0xEE0D0001] Failed to read registry file"

on one of my machines that is running EEPC 6.1 (6.1.0.248). I did see a McAfee KB referring to this error but it was for 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 and stated that this issue was resolved in EEPC 6.1. Has anyone seen this before on 6.1? Would the workaround be the same for 6.1 as it is listed in 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 in the KB? Thanks in advance.

Would suggest you emergency boot the machine...this will rebuild the PBFS and all files within it.

Probably a corruption that has been uncovered.

6.1.0 is substantially better in terms of preventing corruptions than previous releases, but if you want the gold standard for preventing corruptions, please upgrade to 6.1.2 which includes a transactional system in the PBFS to prevent corrupt files from occuring.  Cheers.
