Are you trying to access the clients from the console on the ePO server itself, or from a console on another machine?
I'm trying to do that from the ePO itself
I will add the 'machine name:8081' to IE trusted site and then try to access the agent log.
Make sure that in agent policy, you have checked the box 'enable remote access to log'.
It's possible that we have a problem with the agent stategy and particulary in the onglet journalisation we have Enable remote access to the journal.
If it's OK chek the firewall on your opérating système.

Have you tried to access the log from any other server? Or log from different machines?
The machine must be online for you to access it and if you just installed the agent, it take some time for it to connect to ePO and download the policy that allows remote access to the log.
I use the configuration of policy as he has described in this link. It is with screendumps and everything
