We have some users who are having issues saving Excel files over an F5 VPN client connection using Windows 7 and Office 2010. The file appears to save, but it disappears and leaves a .tmp file in its place. On a technet forum, a Microsoft representative blames it on AV and suggests that we turn off AV on the client and the server to see if we can reproduce the problem. Why is it they always suggest that first instead of finding a solution.
I just want to know if anyone else has seen this issue and if so, if they found a workable solution.
Might try disabling scanning on network drives, but I haven't heard of this issue before. Are they VPN'd and saving to a share?
