what exactly do you need to do? There are a couple of ways of restricting Youtube. Web Gateway does not provide a "Youtube Filter" where you can easily block adult content. Possible ways of restricting access may be:
- Block specific video categories
- Enable the "Safe Mode" that Youtube offers
I think that the "Safe Mode" may be what you are looking for. This is a feature that Youtube offers. When it is turned on, the search for videos will be filtered, and some content will not show up. Please note that this filtering is NOT done by MWG, but by the Youtube website itself.
If the safe mode is enabled or disabled is an information youtube takes from the cookie a browser sends. The cookie contains preferences, which also contain information about "Safe Mode". You can tell Web Gateway for example to rewrite the cookie, so that it always contains the "Safe Mode" flag.
For Youtube I have added a quick example, which seems to work in my lab. Maybe it gives some ideas about the possibilities you have.
Please share additional information about what exactly you are looking for as it may help others to get a better understanding and share some ideas.
Tha t filter is part of the solution, but i need to block by content, based in the exact phrase or Regex, Example: I want to block explicit videos withthe word "porn" in the name of the video.
When you play a video, the <title> tag contains the name of the video playing on the native YouTube pages.
These rules log that <title> into a Title.log file.
I just added the block for a list, so if the title matches in list "*porn*" it will be blocked.
YouTube Title Logging.xml 36.0 K
seems the rules are not working any more. Is there any Update available?
Try to add the parameter "save=active" to youtube urls.
I did a short try and it worked. But I am not sure if this works in every situation on youtube or if a user could get around that "enforcement" somehow. But its worth giving a try.
I have had no luck with using this rule set. Does anyone know how to enable the safe mode. Or point me to the tools to determine how I can do this.
thnak for xml , Is there any way to block pron and entertainment tab on msn or yahoo page ?
I want block those article on general website like msn or google homepage .
this is a very quick rule set that should enable safe search for Youtube:
This will only add safe mode if you search. You will be able to see a video if you know the direct link. I have a rule set which should also mitigate this, but it is not yet finished. In case you would like to test it and provide me with feedback whether it works for you, please send me a PN.
Correct. That's what I suggested. Thanks for the image!
