What kind of environment is this happening? IMAP, POP3 or Exchange? We are currently working on migrating everyone to our new Exchange server and I am using 8.7 in a test enviroment with both IMAP and Exchange configurations and have not seen this as of yet. Are you only seeing this in the upgrade of the client? Or have you seen it in a cold install on an Office 2007 system as well?
I am having this issue also.
Vista Business 32 bit
Outlook 2007 - running in Exchange mode
Removing that worked like a charm.
The path in Vista is: C:\Users\>>YOURACCOUNT<<\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
As it is a caching of dll paths problem from Outlook 2007, it only happens when upgrading. The solution was to add a script that removed all the extend.dat after instalation.
did you do this through ePO or something else?
We used SMS to run the script. Although it is entirely possible to do it through EPO, because it allows for a post-install script to be run.
The problem was that on the deploy on a test group of machines the problem when completely unoticed. So had to solve it via SMS(System Managment Server) for Windows.
thanks, I'll have to look into this when I get a chance.
