at the moment you will need to modify the lists by hand. Most likely you would assign the "Super Administrator" Read/Write permissions to all lists, and set the "default" permissions to "no access". On top of the Super Adminitrator permissions, you will add read/write access to the role of the delegated admin group.
At the moment there is no other way to modify multiple lists at the same time. 30 lists should be OK. A while ago I had a request to maintain 6000 lists in the same manner :-)
This behaviour should improve in the near futures, but currently there is no supported way I am aware of.
Im willing to manually change the ones i have right now but is there a way to change what the default permissions are when you create a new list. I just cant trust the people who would be administrering this system to remember to change the permissions when they create a new list.
Unfortunately, no way to set that as default in this version. I agree, it's pretty tedious.
However, with the new feature of External Lists in upcoming versions, you'll be able to maintain lists on your own, post them on a web server within your own infrastructure and have MWG read them periodically for changes and use them.
Then you won't have to have users logon to the GUI tomodify the list, just edit a text file and post it to a URL.
I'm really looking forward to this feature.
Thanks eric that will be a nice feature. Any idea when its due?
I'm not authorized to give dates, but soon.
I have been playing with some pre-release code so I know it's real.
Awesome thanks eric.
7.1.6 with external lists is BETA now. You might want to try.
