No it shouldn't make any difference as Flash just updated here OK, as it always does. It must be Adobe's servers acting up I would imagine.
You can disable VirusScan at any time though to see if it helps.
Double-click the taskbar icon to open SecurityCenter
Click Virus and Spyware Protection to expand
Click Real-Time Scanning
Click Turn Off and tell it for how long.
But....as I said, you shouldn't have to do that.
