The only viruses that ever seem to get through are ones inside of users Java cache directory, mostly found within .class files under Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache . Only problem is we redirect Application Data to a server share, and for performance issues we don't have workstations scanning files on network shares or in compressed files. We don't have the compressed file option turned on in the on-access scanner on the servers either, as that causes issues with large compressed files.
Does anyone have any suggestions or best practices on how to catch these? we only catch them during our weekly scans on the servers, which do scan with all the options turned on, and i'm assuming the compressed option is what is catching these. We're using VirusScan 8.8.
