can you describe exactly what you did?
In Safeboot Admin Moved existing machines into Group with properties - Boot Protection - Remove and Reboot - Encryption - None - Files -None
Reset to Group Configuration and Force Sync
This worked fine on the first batch of laptops, however the second run had a number of failures as described
Files - NONE ? (assuming no file groups has been selected in that group)
when you click on RESET to GROUP Configuration .. it asks to CHECK/UNCHECK two options
Exclude FILE GROUP
do you remember what did you check/uncheck ?
I didn't get those options, It just asked me to confirm the reset
than also I guess Files -None is the route cause for system down
because when you moved machine to new group where no file groups has been selected.. on first synch client will remove CLIENT FILES first , with all drivers files on client machine..
you are lucky enough that it worked for you in first batch..
Is there any way to recover from this ? surely the decryption should have completed, I can't see the disk using Bart
I dont think that machine are decrypted.. coz file removal takes only seconds.. and if there were no drivers how it decrpyts the drive..
Inshort: I think machines are still encrypted.. and somehow only SBR is removed..
Yeah. Removing the files? Totally bad idea. If you are trying to remove the product just set it to "remove and reboot" and it willmwork it out for itself.
Your situation is recoverable given a bit of work, but as you are a year out of support, not something I can help you with :-(. Maybe professional services?
SBFS is gone so no crypt list, i've used the workspace and scanned through the disk and there is plenty of readable text, i can't mount the disk so I assume there are still encrypted sectors
Is there any way of identifying encrypted sectors ?
Can anybody recommend tools to scan the disk and recover file data ?
Any help is much appreciated
