No, not seen this one before. Are there any messages relating to Protexis or Corel during McAfee scans?
One thing you could do is to open Security Center and check Program Permissions to ensure that Corel has permission to access the internet. Maybe it's stopping Corel from updating or (since this is a Licensing file) renewing or registering the program.
thanks....I checked the firewall settings, they are set to allow Corel to work
Still trying to find a "Program Permissions" in my McAfee Total Protection program
Apologies - in McAfee 2010 there's a separate heading under Firewall Settings for Program Permissions. I gather the 2011 version is different. Which one do you have? In any case you seem to have found the right place to look, whatever heading it's got.
3 questions :
- I'm not familiar with Protexis. Who's the vendor?
- What McAfee product are you running, and what version is it?
- Did McAfee put up any messages about Protexis or Corel?
In 2011 it is Internet connections for programs Maybe remove Corel etc and let it redetect.
I have Corel paint shop pro X2 is that the same? It works fine but will have a look for protexis files.
Do you receive any specific error message while trying to execute your program ? Are you able to get the programs to work if you have the Real time scanner /Firewall Turned OFF ??
Please post us your version details for McAfee programs;
Open security center > click on About > and let us know the below details;
McAfee security center : Version -
McAfee Virus scan : Version-
MAfee total Protection
Protexis is the licensing/anti piracy software Corel uses made by ARVATO/PSI service
There are never any messages I can find in the Corel or McAfee reports other than cookies removed
Never anything by name of the Protexis files
Corel Paint Shop Pro X2 is what I am having trouble with
Tony (Peacekeeper) has Corel, and also McAfee 2011, so he's probably the best person to deal with on this. If there are no messages to indicate a particular problem it could be something to do with the firewall, but I can't say for sure. I can't see anything elsewhere in other forums that indicates a general problem , so it may come down to changing particular settings on your system.
Ok will test this on my wife's PC but first can you enlarge on what is happening. Have you removed all corel file permissions and let them be redetected?
What operating system will have a play when I return from shopping
