And you've checked manually to confirm the files are indeed true malware infections? If so, then it appears VirusScan is doing it's job and you'll want to check the user's intentions.
Nope, I've not experienced any such issue.
Hope this helps.
Nah unfortunately the user was in hurry to get his computer back.
So i just erased the whole lot.
But yeah , his intentions in his use of internet and such seems a bit shady :)
I will keep him under observation. hehe
I've had this happen here a lot with our users. I'll dump out the quarantine folder just to find thousands of files in it a few days later. After checking to logs they all appear to be harmless internet cookies. Sounds like (as previously suggested) your user may be doing some serious surfing.
Havent heard from him anymore.. so he probably shaped up his surfin' habbits.
Good to hear that someone has experienced the same problem though
Nothing much to worry about I've seen a runaway korgo.v infection onone machine ramp up more than 30000 infections (each of which gets cleaned/quantined) by VSE in less than a day. If they are all being quarantined rather than just cleaned though sounds like an internet trojan... no doubt a norty user.
Did you check the logs for the virus name??
