Viditu: Have you tried disabling the wifi drivers for your HP Printer?
i don't have any wifi printer or any printer hp
Viditu: You should post to a new thread so you can get a mod to help you out. This thread regards a very specific issue with HP Printer drivers causing a spike in Mcsvhost.exe. I'm afraid if you only post here, it will be assumed you don't need assistance beyond this, which is already in progress.
uhmmm ok, thanks!
I noticed Somer's request and so I've branched off your original post and the subsequent replies. you now have your own thread, unrelated to the HP issues which were being discussed in the thread you posted to.
Ah basically I have the same problem as you; I'm gonna start tracking this post too in case a solution is found here .
I noticed that we are both running dell xps laptops, and i'm assuming you didn't have any problems before formatting the computer (I didn't have any until i replaced my dying hard drives which led to a fresh win 7 install).
I wonder if dell does something before that somehow circumvents or disables McSvHost.exe from using so much of the CPU.
Bringing up yours and recently's issue in mondays call. To confirm you have no HP printer do you have any printer installed? Also PC specs please. I see make details above I assume adequate ram as this is new.
Here's my PC specs (strait copy and paste from my Dell invoice with prices removed)

No HP printer or printer software installed (never attempted to print from this computer yet)
List of programs I have installed and the approximate order I installed them after installing win 7 + driver software from dell:
Adobe Flash player
adblock (firefox plugin)
McAfee security center
Aol instant messenger
combined comunity codec pack
league of legends
dragon age: origins
Thats about it. I had all of these programs installed before my old HD's died and never experienced any problems. When dell replaced my HD's though they didn't send the HD's with win 7 and all their drivers etc installed already so I did it myself from the resources cds they sent along. Huge CPU spikage from McSvHost.exe tends to occur whenever I either 1.) stream videos online (ie youtube, or gomtv), 2.) playing a game 3.) run uTorrent 4.) sometimes when i'm watching movies using WMP or listening to music on winamp. Any combination of the above makes it start to go crazy and spike even more (ie if i play a game and run utorrent, cpu spikage from McSvhost.exe occurs more frequent intervals.)
The online backup \dell offers is the software installed?
