Yes. I have installed and run MVT. It reported that McAfee had no problems. Yet, shortly afterwards, McAfee itself reported that my computer was at risk and the Real-Time Scanning turned itself off again.
No, I have no other security programs on my computer.
The following KB article may be of help. http://service.mcafee.com/faqdocument.aspx?id=TS100903
The steps it guides you through include:
- Have McAfee check for updates
- If that doesn't fix it, run the McAfee Virtual Technician. http://mvt.mcafee.com.
- If that doesn't fix it, run the OAS Disabled Fix command utility, linked from the KB article above.
- If that doesn't fix it, do a full uninstall of McAfee, run McAfee Product Remote tool (MCPR), then reinstall. Be sure to reinstall from the same source that you first obtained McAfee, in order to maintain your license. Example: if you got it through AOL, download McAfee from their page.
Failing all that, contact McAfee Support and our agents will troubleshoot.
My computer is doing the same thing and nothing is working!!! I dont know what to do!!
Did you try the suggestions above. The uninstall/reinstall option seemed to work for a couple other users who had this issue.
Have you tried what Tromine wrote, the steps from the KB??
Performing a manual Update should resolve this issue the vast majority of times.
If not, try the rest of the steps and make sure you dont have any other antivirus or firewall installed on your system, that might be preventing McAfee from working properly.
If you want, please, let us know how did you do.
