    Scanning Problems

      Hi there,

I was just wondering if anyone could help with this one. Real-Time scanning will not stay on and I keep on getting an error message when I try to do a "quick" or "full" scan. I ran the Virtual Technician program. It said that all problems had been fixed but the Real-Time scanning still fails to stay on and I still get an error message when I try to scan my computer. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

          Hi melissasettle,

Rerwite your question to get meaningful answers as the answers you get may do more harm than good.

Operating System being used: Ex. Win XP SP3. That is not an operating system. That is a Service Pack  only.

Operating system being used: Ex. Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3 installed and Internet Explorer 7.0 being used. - That's great information.

Ex. McAfee Security Center Build: 10 - Not good.

Ex. McAfee Security Center Build 11.0.547 - Excellent.

          For Windows 7, include 64-Bit or 32-Bit.

Are you running the starter version of Windows 7? You aren't saying a lot in your post!

                  I have fix it

I noticed thecreator had a service pack applied to windows so I went to "all programs" and clicked on "windows updates"

It told me I needed to install the service pack, so I did.

I shut down to proceed and then restarted to complete.

At that point McAfee proceeded with updates on it's own.

Again I needed to shut down to to conclude the up dates.

When I restarted the problem was resolved.

I thank you thecreator and Dinz for your support and I hope this helps you melissasettle as well as anyone else with the problem

                  Have a Blessed Day; gordon
