What type of operating system in your computer?
How much available ram?
What type of internet connection?
Did you previously have any security software installed?
Did you purchase your software directly from McAfee or is it from a third party such as Dell, Verizon, AOL?
Can you post any screenshots?
- Please make sure that you do not have any other security software/virus scanner installed – If yes, please uninstall the conflicting program from add/remove programs
- Then, its sub folders (remnants) from C:\program files & common files.
- Run McAfee virtual technician from http://mvt.mcafee.com and post back the status and your session id from MVT .
I don't have other security software and I already tried virtual technician and it says: Unable to get data from server. I tried it a few times but always says the same.
I have the exact same problem except on a desktop with no other security software connected. When I run the update check however it goes green and says my system is up to date but about 30 minute slater I get another flag saying I need to check for updates and the virtual Technician software says the same thing, can't reach application server.
