Be sure to test it first before deploying it to your whole oranisation!
Do we have to reinstall antispyware module after installing this?
When you have problems with your inlog code you can download patch 11 over here:
removed WHY? It's just a normal mcafee link. The file is hosted on a mcafee server and the link where you download the file when logged on is almost the same.
ADMIN: try this link because it's working (at the moment)
I'm anxious to apply VS8 Patch 11 since it reportedly fixes several issues we've been seeing in our environment. However, testing it is tough with EPO. I see a few scenarios to "test" but would like to bounce them off other corporate folks to see if they have other ideas:
Scenario 1: Manually install Patch 11 on various machines throughout the enterprise. If EPO deployment task has VS8 set to Install and Patch 11 is NOT in the repository, will that cause the agent to revert back to Patch 10 (our current VS8 repository patch level)?
Scenario 2: Do the same thing as scenario 1 but set ALL deployment tasks to IGNORE VS8. That would be a major pain in my setup
Scenario 3: Set all Deployment Tasks to Ignore (as in Scenario 2), check Patch 11 into the repository, then set the task to Install to specially selected groups.
Thoughts? I'll post this in the EPO forum as well.
is it necessary to install patch 10 before installing patch 11 or does 11 include all prior patches?
and is it recommended to install the new patch or only when I'm having problems with VC?
Check out the first post and the readme.txt
I would stick to Patch 10 to be honest, but if you go for this, do so in a test environment, and when yor server starts running at 100% CPU, put in a support call to McAffee to obtain Patch 11a (by request only - with supported evidence of fault)
i don't know how to update virus scan enterprise 8.0.i
