VSE 8.8 Deployment via EPO 4.5

      Good Afternoon,

I've just upgraded to ePO 4.5 and am trying to deploy VSE 8.8.

I've checked the package into the master repository - as per my attachment, and have checked the extensions and can see 8.8 in there.

I've created a new task to deploy 8.8 immediately on systems with a specified tag. However, it doesn't appear to run. When you view the client tasks it doesn't give you a status ether - nothing appears server task log either.

Could you confirm if I've not checked in a package to the master repository?

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

      Kind Regards
      Sharlene

IT looks like your repository is OK.

Even if you didn't check-in the extensions the deployment task should work fine so I wonder if you have applied your tag to some computers or not.

What you can do is to use a new deplyment task (without tags) on a single computer and if it works then your tag is not well applied

(BTW, I suppose your task is enabled)

            Hi,

            Thanks for your reply.

I've attempted to run this for just one computer but it doesn't appear to run either.

And just to confirm the task has been set to enable.

Is there anyway I can monitor the process as it doens't show this within the client tasks or server tasks?

            Thanks
            Sharlene

              Good Afternoon,

I've since found out that I can't ping any desktops from within ePO, can can successfully ping servers. I can ping all desktops successfully from the server ePO is running on using DOS.

If it helps I'm running 4.5.4 build 1802.

Any help on getting this resolved would be much appreciated.

              Kind Regards

                Hi Sharlene

In our environment it is also not possible to use the ping feature in ePo 4.5 so as long as you can ping the clients using DOS command prompt that is not the cause I think.

I can't see a Language Pack for VSE 8.8 in your Master Repository, maybe you have to check in this one.

Have you tried to send a wake up call to the client and check the agent log at the same time? You should see entries like:

Have noticed you have HIPS installed, has this reverted back to an original policy perhaps? You may need to migrate your policies.  I couldn't ping or browse any HIPS clients after update to ePO 4.6.

Wish this would have been documented more, also I find HIPS alot more difficult to configure since ePO 4.6, just got used to it in ePO 4.5 then it all changes.

A question: did you select the branch correctly?

I mean that I had that problem but remaking the task I noted that when I was selecting the product to deploy I didn't look at the branch (current, previous or evaluation). If you select a product and the incorrect branch then it wouldn't deploy.

                    Best regards

                      Good Afternoon,

The reason I was unable to get this to work was due to a conflict on port 443.  I've changed this to a different port and everything is functioning in the way it shuold.

                      Thanks for your posts.
