I have just joined this forum and need assistance please.
I have a PC and laptop and subscribing to McAfee for both machines. I have an infected file on my Windows Vista PC. McAfee is unable to remove it on startup. The Trojan is a Generic Downloader.xlfpr and found at C:\ProgramData\audiodev32.dll
I need to know if this is a serious problem or just malware. However I really want to get it removed asap.
Any help will be very much appreciated.
Edit to post : 18Wheeler has posted in another forum to say that the problem is solved. He read through some existing threads (always a smart thing to do) and apparently used ComboFix. Says he is now free of infection.

It's nice to see people doing research and finding answers for themselves...very encouraging. 18wheeler, I trust you are OK now?
As you can see there's plenty of help available here, so sing out if you need it.
Moved to the sub-section Home User Assistance by the way.
Yep. All fine now thanks. I hate malware. The same infection also hijacked my browser which has also been fixed. I am impressed with your fast response. Thanks again
That's great, all the best. ;-)
