So EEPC wouldn't decrypt via policy so i tried to do a Remove EE via EETech.
I changed sata mode to compatability and tried to Remove EE- it did nothing - left it overnight and there was no movement on the status bar or HDD activity - so cancelled and that hung.
now on boot it says:
“McAfee EE Fatal error: EE020006 Getting disk info"
So was going to force decrypt - but i have only done this once before on a single partitioned machine.
This one has two partitions.
This sounds like a really stupid question but:
Do I add both the sector counts from each partition to give me a number to insert into the "number of sectors" so that it will decrypt the whole disk?
or do i do one partition at a time?
please- any help would be really appreciated.
Could you please attach a copy of the MfeEpe.log file, you can find this in the <Program files>\McAfee\Endpoint Encryption Agent.
oops - (never got an email notification about your reply to my post)
There were no errors or anything that looked untoward in the log file.
I managed to successfully decrypt both partitions- one at a time (although somthing happened to the MBR as it wouldn't boot - even after restoring it)- but since the data was decrypted we could ghost the disk and extract data from it.
