The agent is the only part that requires credentials on the local box. Once the agent is installed it should take all tasks like any other box on the domain. I'd check the group policy settings on the workgroup system and see if there's a policy blocking the McAfee installs.
There is no extra security policy settings, which could prevent from installing VSE.
Agent is communicating with ePO, but is not reporting enything, e.g. still I can't see ane details about OS in the ePO console System Tree.
If I force agent to communicate with ePO (CmdAgent.exe /CEP) it will communicate but do nothing with scheduled tasks.
Any idea how to correct this situation?
Do these systems have a different agent policy? On the McAfee agent policy, do you have checks in the "enable agent wake up call", "enable agent-to-server communications" and "send full product properties..."? What's the time set on the ASCI?
Policy are the same as for all domain. ASCI is set to 60 min. and every setting is checed.
please go to Agent_computername.log in MA install dir and see what it says about running the task (and if there is such a task there in the first place). If it says that it invoked the task, and you see that the task finished without error (yet VSE did not install) then McScript.log in the same folder contains details on task results.
I've check log files, and where is no proper task. Agent uploaded some task but not this proper one.
Could you suggest some additional steps how and where to fix it?
Make another deployment task for this workgroup and test again.
Schedule for run immediatly and make a wake up call.
this will work fine.
Note: Move the workgroup to inside My Organization group. remove it from Lost & Found.
Are these clients window 7 computers? If yes, you should tell ePO to add Windows 7 platform code to tasks/policies. Agent will only run task on client that has platform code corresponding to client opsys.
KB67347 or KB67321.
I've found what was wrong, but still I don't understand why this happend.
I've added system to the ePO console using IP address, and the system was located inside My Organization\my_workgroup group.
Thanks to josevicente suggestion I checked Lost&Found group, and there was the same machine but with correct "system name'.
Is something wrong If I add systems by IP address?
Thanks & Regards
