    Best way to apply updates

      Hello,

We recently migrated from ePO 4.0 Maintenance Release 4 to Maintenance Release 5, and want to deploy the new version of the HIPS agent. Our previous version was 7.0.0.1070 and the new version is 7.0.0.1102

Is it better to use a "Product Deployment (McAfee Agent)" task or a "Product Update (McAfee Agent)" task? I've tried both and both are crapping on out me.

Is it necessary to disable IPS protection to make this task more successful/reliable?

I'm not a HIPs expert, but assuming that we're talking about a new version of HIPs rather than a simple patch or hotfix, then this would be deployed using a product deployment task. (Update tasks are for things like content updates, like DATs, and product patches.)

          Regards -
