Go to Program Files, go to the McAfeeMOBK folder, and double click on MozyUninstaller.exe
After the MozyUninstaller.exe finishes running re-boot your computer.
When you computer reboots, the folder McAfeeMOBK will be gone.
Double click on the McAfee Shield with the white M on the task bar, click on the Data Protection and Backup and the Online Backup will be gone. From now on when you reboot you will not get the nag screen to install McAfee Online Backup.
Some times it seems like the uninstaller didn’t work, re-boot and you will find the uninstaller did its job.
If this has already been address sorry, I could not find any information on this in my searches.
So using the custom option when installing does this still give the popup. I did not install online and to date no popup
I do not know if you can use custom install and pick what to install or not install. Maybe someone who installed from a CD can answer your question.
I am not sure. I was having trouble installing McAfee Total Protection 2011 from the McAfee web site, for some reason it installed McAfee Security 2010 instead of McAfee Total Protection 2011. McAfee tech support got involved and remotely started the installation process to install McAfee Total Protection 2011.
2011 is only available from the Australian site . They are staged releasing it and only released there last week. US some weeks later if all goes hunky dorey
In the install there is a custom option I use it all the time as no need for family protection/online backup and theft protection options.
I see what you mean Tony. I went to my account and there is no link to download a reinstall from my McAfee Web Site account, even though I registered my new CD purchase. I did not purchase this recent McAfee Total Protection 2011 from the McAfee web site. I know when I purchased McAfee Total Protection 2010 last year and registered the 2010, I got a button on my account web site for reinstalling. I hope later this is the case for 2011.
Really you should have a download option on your account page. Check with customer service email on the link in useful links above
2010 will upgrade to 2011 itself in a few weeks.
Well that funny, I just went back to my account and miraculously the download buttons were there. I know I did not overlook them, there big red bottons.
I now have 3-User McAfee Total Protection 2011 and McAfee Anti-Theft download capabilities.
Account additions take a few days to turn up. Was your install recent?
Yes five days ago.
Yes that can be expected I am waiting a disabled licence to be renewed and still there after 12 hrs so I might have some time more to wait.
