As you've already got Malwarebytes installed try the following which should work.
Boot into 'Safe Mode with Networking' by tapping F8 repeatedly while booting up and then selecting it from the ensuing menu, usually #2.
Open Malwarebytes and update it then run a full scan and let it remove anything it finds and reboot when asked to.
I updated Malewarebytes for the latest version and ran it - it did not find anything.
When I booted the PC to start of the day, the same Fake Alert Message came up.
What other suggestions do you have??
What exactly does the fakealert message say?
Try posting a Hijackthis log on one of the following forums. (Download it and post logs in Safe Mode with Networking if regular mode has no access)
Do not post Hijackthis logs here, we can't help with those!
Post the logs at a specialist Forum:
Be sure to read all the sticky announcements/instructions at the top of each malware forum!
I havd tried to obtain responses from a few of the forums your passed on but nothing yet.
The message says "VIRUS ALERT. Application cannotbe started. The file wltuser is damaged. Do you want to activate Antivirus now?"
Any help you can provide would be wonderful.
Hopefully they will answer soon. Not too sure what else to advise you.
