Message quarantined to Failures Quarantine Queue on ST Mode failure

    schnuppa3

      Hi,

does anyone knows what this event-log message means?

"Message quarantined to Failures Quarantine Queue on ST Mode failure"

An outbound message stucks in this queue, the sender got no failure message.

"Message quarantined to Failures Quarantine Queue on ST Mode failure"

=> This just means that a message was quarantined to Failures Queue.

ST Mode is Single Thread mode(SuperQueue).  SuperQueue usually works in multithreading and it occasionally goes to ST Mode under high utilization or heavy load due to large attachments, nested zip attachments, and so on.

There are 3 configurations which you can choose to "Quarantine", "Pass Through", or "Drop message" for those message that Superq can not handle as yours.

          •      Internal Queue - MiME Ripping Configuration window    MIME Parse Failure Action
          •      Internal Queue - MIME Joining Configuration window   MIME Re-Building Failure Action
          •      Global Configuration window   Fail-Open Action

Currently there are no such features which Notify senders/recipients/administrators when message Quarantined in Failures Queue. (I had submitted Feature Enhance Request (FER) to McAfee twice.) so I and my end customers all choose "Pass Through" for each.

Regarding why messages quarantined to Failures Quarantine Queue, please see formally posted KB70873.
