Windows Media Player has been singled out as malware or something in your playlist has or maybe a downloaded codec?
Also we need to know any malware names if possible and what operating system and service pack you are using?
There are procedures you can follow if you feel this is an incorrect detection HERE. https://community.mcafee.com/thread/2016
Otherwise we need a lot more detail.
Hello [insert member name here].
upon communicating with the user, we have came to the conclusion that it was in deed one of the files the user was trying to use me to access. I believe it was a trojan. I am windows media player version 11.0.6001.7000. My user has been quite lazy with thier updates.
By the way, the operating system I am installed on is windows vista home premium service pack 1.
Well perhaps you can inform your owner that they should be updating Vista to Service Pack 2 and there is help with that HERE: https://community.mcafee.com/thread/2019
A non-updated system is extremely prone to infection.
However, back to the trojan. So you are OK with it being found as a trojan, whatever it was? If not I posted the link earlier on what to do if you feel it shouldn't be detected.
Thank you. I will inform the user to do some upgrades. I will mark this as solved so they can get thier act together. Thank you very much.
OK, all the best...to you both...;-)
