If you see that the task is invoked to the client machine. Is it not working? Please reproduce the question.
Second question: If you create/schedule any client task from the ePO server. That will run in backgroup and user will not be able to Cancel it.
I started to get those generic script errors on PCs with 1GB of memory or less. Rebooting the computer caused it to be able to get a new DAT so it seemed likely that there wasn't enough memory.
I got those PCs to be retired or have more memory and that fixed it.
Invoking means it is kicking it off correctly. What is the issue?
The question should have sayed: "The new task is invoked but nothing happens".
The scan does not initiate on the client.
Just a thought, but check the process list on the target machine. Tasks invoked by the agent run silently, so the end user won't see anything: you'll only see it in task manager. (Scan32 is the process you're looking for.)
The schedule scan should also appears in the client machine's virus scan console, right click on the schedule scan and select statistics to know the status.
Client tasks will appear in the VSE console only when you check the box from VSE policy from ePO.
VSE 8.7; User interface policy=>display managed task in client console.
VSE 8.8: General option=>display managed task in client console.
