it has been tried by one or the other, but is not officially supported, therefore any call to support might be rejected as you are then running in an unsupported environment. Additionally we can't guarantee any performance on Hyper-V as we are not running the required kernel extensions to support it.
I have recorded your request as market evidence and added it to the list.
Thank you for answering Michael !
Although I am aware of the vmware performance vs hyper-v, it would be a greate advantage if it could be run on hyper-v also. Many of our clients is migrating on hyper-v for many reasons, however runing bothw hyper-v and vmware is frustrating....
are there any news available regarding hyper-v support?
maybe there is something on the road map for the upcomming 7.5 release?
Would be great to know whether there is somethig on its way. We got several questions from end customers for hyper-v support especially to implement mcafee web gateway in remote sites where no esx/esxi infrastructure is available and where nobody wants to have an dedicated server to run web gateway...
never say never. It came up several times recently, but I need to weight if the demand/potentical revenue is equal or higher the costs. I can't commit to it at this stage.
You might be able to help me actually. Go to: https://mcafee.acceptondemand.com/, register there and create a PER detailing why you want to use Hyper-V, why VMWare isn't suitable, etc.
About two years ago was created this threat and hyper-v does it still not supported? As a loyal customer of McAfee that we decided to migrate all our vServer from vmware to hyper-v. It has been finished all migration processes except McAfee Web Gateway. We are difficult situation. Is it possible give to us estimated date of release support of Hyper-v? Also I was registered to https://mcafee.acceptondemand.com/,but didn't reach any confirmation email therefore I could not create PER.
any news on this topic? Hyper-V 2012 was released one year ago and 2012R2 is coming.
We also moved completely to Hyper-V...
We need to renew the service for our 1100E Appliances till 29.08.2013 (due to EOL).
So, we can choose between "buy new 4000 Appliances" or "buy new hardware + VMWare".
Both options doesn't fit our strategy especially when we have "free" Hyper-V resources.
I can remember that we used Webwasher on Server 2003 (native) a long time ago. :-)
