Does the product say an expiry date in the Security centre when you open it?
This question really 1 for customer service see link in useful links tab above. Chat with them though why are you worried as u said it expires in 10 days.
Are you able to view your active subscriptions ?? Could you please login to you account page here : http://us.mcafee.com/root.login.asp and let us know the same. If you are then, right click on M icon at the system tray and click on product setup/Activate and then try to complete the registration with the same credentials.
If you are not, please run the McAfee virtual technician from here : http://mvt.mcafee.com and post back you session id
