In Safe Mode many computer functions are disabled and the SecurityCenter doesn't function properly - this is normal. The only thing you can do in Safe Mode is right-click a file, folder or drive and select 'Scan" from the right-click menu.
Then an extra taskbar icon will tell you it is scanning. But most other functions aren't available.
The same goes for most software.
FYI "Safe Mode with Networking" which is second on that menu you see when you first boot into that mode can be very useful when regular mode isn't working, as it gives you internet access.
thanks mate,so are you saying that because my security centre is ok in normal mode, that its ok,and i should go with what that is telling me?and that the fix-it button not working in safe mode isnt an issue?

Yes, if SecurityCenter is functioning as it should in normal mode that's all you need worry about.
The fix button wont work in Safe Mode.
