Make sure below option is enable in property of the machine > General Tab > Miscellaneous
> Enable boot disk compability
> Always enable preboot USB Support
Once option selected synchronize the client machine and check the status
What SATA mode you have selected in the BIOS ?
Quite opposite, "Always enable preboot USB Support" setting should be unchecked in most cases.
Then for what purpose "Always enable preboot USB Support" option can be used just need information on the same.
actually, both these options should be UNCHECKED unless absolutely necessary - IE you have a specific machine which needs them (which is very unlikely with the current release).
checking them will create more problems than they solve on most machines.
We originally used 5.1.7 and experienced this issue but when we upgraded to 5.2.3 this issue went away on most laptops. Issue still occurs on some laptops hanging between preboot and windows os due to token type.
HP Models work with no problem if the following are true
-Bios USB legacy devices are enabled
uncheck - Always enable pre-boot USB support
-Bios - increase the number of seconds for USB recognition from 0-5, this helps success if multiple usb devices plugged into HP docking station.
-Bios - Disabling, bluetooth, fingerprint reader, and other non essential Bios options helps on HP laptops.
-Required Bios USB option to be disabled when using egate
Check - Always enable pre-boot USB support
Any resources available for the actual boot process the client goes through? My understanding is limited and somewhere along the lines of this: Machine powered on, devices given generic drivers from pre boot os via mee rtos. User authenticates successfully and there is some sort of pass off to either windows or bios for device control and windows begins to boot. What handles the hand off from the rtos to windows/bios for USB drivers?ins it handed directly into the windows os or back to the bios to be handed to windows?
its handed back via the BIOS. It's the only way it can be done.
Is there any sort of documentation on the complete boot process?
