If i remember correctly have at look in the registry under
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Application Plugins\VIRUSSCAN8700
What value is against the 'HotFixVersions' key on the affected machines? I think if you change it to 3 it should install the update correctly.
I have 1000 pc that need to be updated. Dont think that I want to go to each PC and change the reg entry. Can I create an individual task to remove vse 8.7i patch 3 and use the individual task I allready created to install 8.7i patch 4? I have a task that removes vse 8.5 patch 8 and install vse 8.7i patch 4 which works fine. However, when I try to create a task to remove vse 8.7i patch 3 and install VSE 8.7i patch 4 ePO tells me they are the same VSE and I cant create the task.
You could go straight to 8.8. We've had no issues so far with our rollout
thanks for the info, i am still new to ePO. A coworker set it up and is no longer working here. Do you know if i can go from VSE 8.5 patch 8 to vse 8.8? I have some workstations that are still VSE 8.5 patch 8. Also, I recieved an e-mail on Jan 20th that VSE 8.8 has technical problems with posting process and is temporarily unavailable from the download site. I am still waiting for that e-mail that says it ready. Do you have any info on that? thanks again for all your help.
