It works fine under VMWare ESXi 4.1.
I'm not sure what the support policy is.
We also run it on ESX 4.1 and it works fine.
Technotes only indicate ESX 4 support though - so you may want to clarify with McAfee.
"ESX 4.0 is supported with ePO 4.5 Patch 1"
which mean (if following support logic) that ESX 4.1 is not supported, because if somethig is not stated as supported is not supported.
No, it just means someone hasn't updated the docs, or treats ESX 4.1 as just a dot increase on ESX 4.
Anyhow, it works.
I know that it works, it is almost natural, but this doesn't mean that it is supported, and I'm afraid that is related to QA test that haven't been done for this version rather than not corrected docs.
And now for example if you call Tier I and ask about ESX 4.1 support they check with release notes and tell you that it is not supported.
Then someone in McAfee needs a good prodding to revise their policies, lest they lose customers to vendors with more realistic support policies.
Thank you for all your answers, that told me it works, but i wanted to have an official paper from McAfee.
Thank you for your reply, it's exactly what i expected.
Now, i know i can go with this solution
Again, thank you
For all, have a good day
