I have started testing VSE 8.8 on two Windows XP Pro SP3 systems. Today when I restarted them (several times), they both had the yellow Security Center balloon pop up (and the red Security Center icon) from the system tray stating that VSE was not turned on. On one system the icon stayed there for about 15 seconds, on the other one maybe a mintue or two. This was after the VSE icon came up, then changed to the shield with the M on it. The first system is a P4 3.2GHz, HT enabled, with 512 MB RAM. The other is a P4 2.4 GHz, no HT, with 1 GB RAM. VSE's "Scan processes on enable" option is turned off.
This did not occur with VSE 8.7, nor did it occur with VSE 8.8 until today. Anyone else with similar hardware seeing this?
This worries me because our users will obviously be concerned if they see this message whenever they reboot.
Seen the same thing here, but only when my laptop is using wireless to connect.
Which is a right pain in the neck, given that we're using NAP which insists on AV being on.
