    Epolicy Migration tools VirusScan 8.8

      All,

       

      I just receive Virusscan 8.8. I've added the package, extension...to my EPO server w2k3 as evaluation. Now I want to migrate the exsting vs 8.7 policy to vs 8.8. Have used epolicymigration but no luck, no error reporting.

      Any suggestion is Welcome.

          Run the migration tool on the ePO server and let it create a log file with

          ePOPolicyMigration.exe >log.txt

          in the log you should see whats wrong

            With VirusScan 8.8 you have to extract zip file you have downloaded from McAfee site. Then you run ePOPolicyMigration.exe with double click.

              Thank to all for you're answer. Finally found the pb. epolicymigrator.exe for vs8.8 was not correctly copied ! Simply unzip the archives and copy it to their own place on the EPO server. Policy migration runs OK.

                i am currently dealing with a simular case where by a client is having the same problem.

                Because he ran the installation before running the migrationtool..

                   Browse to where you saved the VirusScan Enterprise 8.8 installation files (described in
                Preparation for installing the software) and double-click the ePOPolicyMigration.exe
                file.
                NOTE: When upgrading VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i policies and tasks, use the command-line
                option with the force switch as follows: ePOPolicyMigration.exe /force85
                2 After the tool has run one of the following ePolicy Orchestrator Migration Tool dialog boxes
                appears:

                The migration has completed successfully. Your migration is complete.
                To remove and reinstall the extension, see the ePolicy
                Orchestrator documentation for details.
                The migration tool has already run. To run it again the
                VirusScan Enterprise extension must be removed from
                the ePolicy Orchestrator repository and then installed
                again.

                The most recent version of the VirusScan Enterprise
                extension is not checked in. It must be checked in
                before running the migration tool.
