This blog entry refers to a removal tool created by the eset dutch subsidiary http://www.blogsdna.com/2540/uninstall-completely-remove-nod32-antivirus-with-fr ee-nod32-removal-tool.htm
The tool is only in dutch but I don't know how much of an issue that is with you, might be worth checking it out if you can script it somehow.
there are also some links to another tool from eset here: http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2289
Thank you for the information..
I followed but my issue is that is not concomitant with Viruscan87 deployment. in fact I've to find the way to execute simply the uninstall string togheter with Mcafee deployment..
the feasable script is %Program Files%\Eset\Setup\setup.exe /silentmode /uninstall
but I don't know how to execute from Mcafee agent.
why dont you script the uninstall and then follow it with scripted agent install you could do this with an AD script
because the old antivirus have to be uninstalled in the same moment the the new one will be deployed. we cannot leave pc without AV also for a short term.
the only way to coordinate both actions, is to give this task to mcafee product..
I think perhaps you misunderstood me.
you create a script that you for instance deploy with AD (handy as you can use its security) basing it on presence of the nod32 executables or lack of mcafee ones.
the script runs your uninstall you have already quoted and suppresses any reboot
the script then installs the mcafee agent (created from epo so it has the right epo site embedded in it) from a network share with for instance framepkg.exe /forceinstall /install=agent
after the agent install you tell the agent to talk back to epo straight away by referencing the local executable eg:
c:\program files\mcafee\common framework\cmdagent.exe with the switches from this KB article

Now as you are running a deployment I'm going to then assume that you have a deployment job for VSE setup to run immediatly which will now install vse.
