EPO 4.5 Pull Now failure and Replication error

      Hi Everyone.

I am working on the Epo server 4.5.

Since several days ago, I started to have these two problems. One is Pull Now failure which as below:

1/11/11 9:49:46 AMStarted: Pulling content from McAfeeHttp to  Evaluation branch
1/11/11 9:49:58 AMRepository  Pull from site McAfeeHttp complete, no warnings
1/11/11 9:49:58 AMPull Now (The License Manager found an unknown  license.)

This is the log file I grabbed from EPOAPSrv.log: the first part fails during the schedule pulling; however, the second part shows all fine when manually pull from server.

The Replication error occurs to one of our servers meanwhile all the rest servers are working well. Error msg is:

      2011-01-11 12:01:36.177
      ERROR
Failed  to upload file Evaluation\SUPERDAT1000\SuperDAT\0000\Setup.exe to site ***002.*.*.dom:8081

Can someone please give me some suggestions. Any clues will be appreciated!

        • 1. Re: EPO 4.5 Pull Now failure and Replication error

          Hello Hallambin,

Taking a look on your logs, for me it suggests that you are having a network issue, thus because:

The error "HTTP Server returned Error : 502", usually means "poor IP communication issue". If you search on the web you might find several comments about this error, most of all pointing to the same problems.

The error "10060" means "A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond".

I'd do the following activities in order to try to find out the cause/resolve the issue:

          1. Make sure that in your ePO server there are no desktop firewall installed. If you have it, disable it and see if the issue stills.

          2. Then, review your network devices logs while you try to reproduce this issue. Your network devices logs might give you a better idea on what's going on.

          3. Another thing is if you can use another connection to internet I mean, another firewall, or another proxy so you can compare if the results were the same.

          4. If you perform a network capture while you try to reproduce the issue, it might give you an idea about where is the problem.

          Hope this helps.

          Regards,

          Bruno

          • 2. Re: EPO 4.5 Pull Now failure and Replication error

            Hi Bruno.

Thank you so much for the reply and suggestions. I will check thru the tips you gave to me and get back to you ASAP! Really thanks.

Still, I am wondering two points here:

            1. why the returning results from schedule PULL and manual PULL are different, tho they are running the same script? Additionally, manual PULL can successfully fetch data from McAfee center.

            2. also, can I ask what usually cause the error "502: poor IP communication" and "10060: connection attempt failed due to the connected party did not respond properly".

            Regards!
