Please provide us with the below information, What is the operating system of the computer ?
How is the computer connected to internet ? (dsl/wireless/cable)
Do you have any other security software installed in the computer ?
Do you receive any spyware/ virus alerts in the computer ?
Please run McAfee virtual technician from http://mvt.mcfee.com and check if it fixed all reported issue, and do post your session id here.

the computer is connected to internet by wireless, I don't have any other security software.
I use windows 7.
Everyday I get 2 messages from my computer asking me about virus protection, everything's on in mcafee.
I tried to use virtual techinician but nothing changed :/
Please follow the below step , and let us know the status;
Click on Start - Start search and type run and press enter
In the open prompt type : drivers
Locate and double click on the folder etc
Right click on Host file and select Notepad to open with.
Make sure that the last line of your host file says 127.0.0.1 and you may delete any other additional entry if found and save the host file accordingly
Click on Start - Start search and type cmd
From the option , right click on cmd and select Run as administrator
In the command prompt window type the following : ping download.mcafee.com (note : there is a space after the word ping)
Check if you receive a valid reply from the site and not 127.0.0.1
Please keep me posted on the outcome of the ping status so that we could proceed further with this.
