I've found the solution for the problem: "McAfee failed to create IDispatch".
Actually, you can use software registry clean like Piriform CCleaner or Glary Utilities.
Now I'm using both of them.
For the Piriform's software you will not have any problems and you quite run it.
For Glary Utilities you have to set a specif configuration.
You have to exclude only the following registry key:
So you will not have this problem and everything works fine.
I suggest to use Glary Utilities. You can find it at the following link: http://www.glarysoft.com/
Now, let me explain how to set the exclusion of that registry key, as regards Glary Utilities.
1. Download and install the software. Run it.
2. In the "1-Click Maintenance" menu, select all the fields and click on "Scan for Issues".
3. Wait for the end of the scan.
4. In the first field, that's Registry Cleaner" click on "Show Details".
5. Search this registry key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TskTCShm.CoMcTaskScheduler\CLSID\
6. Right click on it and set it to always exclude. Close this Details window.
7. Now you're back to main menu "1-Click Maintenance", and click on "Repair Problems".
8, Well done, finish.

Is there a solution for those of us that do NOT use reg cleaners. My Total Protection was working fine until a recent update. Now I am plagued with the "failed to create IDispatch" whenever I try to access anything on the McAfee control panel. I have downloaded and run the diagnostic tool (downloaded and installed update, then ran again after restart and says everything is fine, yet the problem still exists). I am wondering, after reading through the messages on this issue, if McAfee still hasn't acknowledged the problem and devised a solution? It seems that after the "Solution" pertaining to the reg cleaner settings was posted, all moderator/McAfee postings stopped. If I have to sit on the phone with tech support for several hours then forget it; I'll uninstall and go back to Norton. ANyone find an actual solution?

Once we answer a post mods get notification of replies. I haven't been replying as I have no new news. Each Time I see a query re this I reask the techs in our mod call. There is another 1 tomorrow so will reask and answer here.
AlienwareAR that's an interesting approach but many people don't want to use registry cleaners, myself included, and what we need to find out is exactly what key is the culprit. We are asking questions about this on our conference call as it's a problem that has cropped up on numerous occasions through many different versions of the software. I personally suspect a clash with something else on those machines.

Could you please let me know the version of your Internet Explorer ?
Also, In IE - click on Tools >> click on Windows Updates - And install any available update for the system.

Also ensure you are fully updated re Microsoft and Java
Windows (Windows Vista Home Premium (x64) Service Pack 2 (build 6002)), IE (Internet Explorer Version 8.00.6001.18999) and Java (Java Platform SE 6 U23 Version 22.214.171.124) are fully updated.
Thanks Dinz will contact some of you to get logs of the issue. idispatch if you google it can be non current java and MS updating.
