Best to let Chat try to clean this up and reinstall

i have been reading responses from:
They all have been having the same issues as me. The subscription started 8/30/10 for this laptop. Dell Studio 1747 (windows 7 64 bit) 4 GB memory Intel Core i7 CPU
I have tried everything in the mentioned threads with no luck. I tried running the MVT again with no luck. It says there is no services installed because there is not any installed. Why does the installer tell me to run MVT when I get a failed install if it will not search for anything when unless it is installed?
According to the above threads, chatting with tech support does not give you any results. Has there STILL not been a resolution for 64 bit installation?
I tried to do a custom install vs complete install and only do virus scan and firewall no luck, same error. I then tried virus scan only with same error. After that, I tried the firewall only, it downloaded that, then the main install fails, install failed. Any ideas. Registry is clean, no traces of mcafee but still it refuses to install.

Yes but did you try chat. You can ask to escalate it and they will get a T2 or higher tech to call back. Still worth a go. I have win 7 64bit as does another mod and it never fails to install. I do it every 2 weeks to test the install process.
You said Win 7 can you be more specific about the PC - hardware configuration etc.
Also try these things if you haven't tried them already:
*make new test acc -as admin
*if you have any registry modifiers - CCcleaner,defragment tools etc remove them
*make clean boot in the new acc - start-run-msconfig - disable all start up items
*stop UAC - user access control
*stopp win defender
*check win udpatess- including optional ones
*check for any MFE fodlers left in Program Data,Program Iles,Common files,temp
*download again DMSetup
*try to install it again and updates us on the stat but try the isntall in Safe Mode with networking
