Hi rdefino !
I remember some time ago that McAfee agent 4.5 had problems with installing on Windows 7 with UAC turned on. However this issue was address to installation with framepkg.exe directly on windows 7 machine. The resolution was that you had to install the framepkg with "run as administrator", even thouhg you would be logged in as administrator.
Otherwise how did you try to install agent ? Throug ePO console ? Wich version of agent do you have checked-in in ePO ? Maybe try with newer one - released on june 15, 2010 - with patch 1.
Get back and report us please,
Good Luck !
The agent version is 4.5 1499 checkin in on Aug 10th. I have tried installing as "run as administrator" and it didn't work. Only worked when disabling UAC. I'm trying to install this manualy.
Did you create your framepkg.exe from ePO and try to install manually or try som other way ? When you install it with disable UAC, does it work fine and connect to ePO ? It would also be intereseting what does the windows log for application and system "says" when you try to install it manuall with UAC turned on ? What happen acctually, do you get any error ?
How about trying to install on some other win7 machine or is this gloabally issue on all win 7 PCs...
I did create it from the EPo server and I can only install it manualy with UAC off. I tried pushing it from the EPO server and it didn't work. I tried manualy running it "as administrator with UAC on and it didn't work.
this happens on more than 1 system. No errors where given.
One more question - than I am out of ideas and you will have to open a case to McAfee (if there will be no other answers...)
When you try to push an agent from ePO (i beleive you're trying to do that by waking up agent wich than starts client task (install policy), did you find any errors in ePO logs ?
