McAfee Agent 4.5 for Linux ( System not updating in EPO server)

      hello All,

I have installed, McAfee EPO 4.5 and i was going to install McAfee 4.5 Agent on REDHAT LINUX ENTEPRISE SEVER 4.1. I followed following procedures.

1: Downloaded the agent from 4.5 Console

2: Converted the file in Binary Mode.

3: Transfererd the file to Linux Server

      4: Installed the ( Install.sh) successfully.

5: Checked for the Package on Linux Server if its installed or not. ( i found it to be installed)

Issue: On EPO server i dont see this client added. I tried to do Wake up agent from EPO and it went successfully. However the system is not showing in the System TAB.

      Any help on this. ?

      Regards

      L

Check the agent logs for errors. Somewhere under /opt/McAfee/cma/ if memory serves well. (/opt/McAfee/cma/logs ?)

Also, make sure you check the whole system tree, in case the machine has been added somewhere unexpected.

          Rgds,

          Rob.

i would like to update that , i was able to see the machine registered in the EPO, but that happend after like 30 - 40 minutes. I dont think this is normal, there must be some timframe as to when the server should register itself in EPO database and show the list.

However the issue is resolved. Thanks for your response.

Actually that is probably normal - first connection to ePO is within a randomised timeframe, just as with the Windows agent.

              It's not instantaneous after installation.

Btw, the log location is /opt/mcafee/cma/scratch/etc/

The log is conveniently called 'log'

              Rgds,

              Rob.
