Not that I would be aware of. I know that someone will mention SafeBoot 4.2 as being too old, but most incompatibilities are because of new BIOS, storage features. Not CPU.
If you are curious if newer version fixes your problem, get EEPC 5.2.5 and try it out with your client PC.
Please send more detailed description of your problem. "Doesn't boot correctly" is not very technical.
Hi Peter , thanks for help me. The message showed in the start up is :
Starting Safeboot version 4.2
and not show Safeboot login screen. I installed another laptops with similar Core and appeared the same problem . When I installed in Laptop with dual core it not happened.
Do you have any idea?
Were both laptops the same brand? Same BIOS? BIOS settings?
You may check this thread:
Conclusion: Upgrade BIOS to newest version and use EEPC 5.2.5.
same brand but different model and BIOS:
1- Dell E4310 BIOS A03 CORE i5 not found
2- Dell VOSTRO 3300 BIOS A03 CORE i3 not found
3- Dell E4300 BIOS A14 CORE DUAL found correctly
OK, Great !
Do you have any document "how to migrate safeboot 4.2 to EEPC 5.2.5." ??
the migration guide is included in the 5.2.x download - its in the docs directory.
Since Guide does not cover many aspects of client (and server side) upgrade, I suggest that you test that extensively.
Make sure that you read this forum posts, related to client upgrade issues.
