Most likely it can't access the site:
Check that the specific port is open on firewall/proxy servers etc: myavert.avertlabs.com: 8801
Not sure- but also did you enter in a license key during the install? Maybe its looking for that too.
I managed to resolve this. Thank you all. license key was keyed in ok from word go. The issue was the DAT and Engine were not loaded in the main repository, did a manual pull of the files. Also http://myavert.avertlabs.com:8801/reportservice.asmx was not open my ISP had the outbound facing the internet port 8801 blocked.
