Folder that SDB file resides on, must be writable. Copy SDB to writable folder and use it from there.
the sdb file is on a floppy drive
with 800kb free
also have it on a usb pen drive (1gb)
same error message
also copied the file to the B: ramdisk and still the same error message
has your WinTech disk worked on other machines? Normally this means the drivers are not properly installed (the WinTech ones).
Its a wintech disk created by another admin
everything has worked with this before on other machines
should i recreate the disk again?
any available downloads?
or should I use a safetech floppy to amend the registry? instead of the bartpe cd route?
safeboot build 5120
start at the beginning - what's the exact problem you are trying to resolve?
edit the registry, replace the winlogon ginadll value of sbgina.dll with msgina.dll
sbalg.sys is missing after trying to remove safeboot
need to amend in the registry as per fix in the thread linked in my first comment
same as thread 130056
if you ran sbsetup-uninstall, then the disk can't be encrypted?
so, why use WinTech at all? Just boot to the standard XP recovery CD and fix it from there, or any WinPE/BartPC CD?
sent the remove and reboot to the machine
but boot protection is still present
the error code comes up after logging into safeboot
tried all options of booting
last known, safemode etc
last known and start windows normally gives a blue screen 0x000000024
safemode gives the sbalg.sys missing or corrupt error
