    VSE 8.7 Patch 2 or Patch 3

      Hi,

       

      How can I see if some workstations have Patch 2 or Patch 3 installed?

       

      There is different files between the 2 Patch's?

          You can create a query on the ePO to identify the hotfix version(s) of your clients...

           

          System Management / Managed Systems

          Chart Type: Table

          Columns: (Managed Systems) System Name; (Computer Properties) User Name; (VirusScan Enterprise Properties) Hotfix/Patch Version

          Filter: Hotfix/Patch Version (VirusScan Enterprise) [Value is not Blank]

           

          The differences between hotfix 2 and 3 are outlined in the release notes.  I'd recommend searching the Knowledge Base for the following articles:

          • VirusScan Enterprise 8.7i Patch 3 Release Notes (PD22528)

            I know that I can see by ePO the Patch version.

             

            But I want see in workstation, by example, in a file. If you click with right mouse button in C:\Program Files\McAfee\VirusScan Enterprise\scan32.exe you can see VirusScan version. And the patch, where can you see the version?

              I'm not certain exactly what files change; however, you should be able to determine the hotfix version in the system registry based upon the following value names...

               

              • HKLM\SOFTWARE\McAfee\DesktopProtection\Patch_2
              • HKLM\SOFTWARE\McAfee\DesktopProtection\Patch_3

                If you use the About feature from the Agent System Tray Context menu, Under VirusScan Enterprise you should either see....

                 

                Installed Patches : 2

                or

                Installed Patches : 3
