Which version of EEPC, Windows?
Did you tried to install the same install set on other (plain vanilla) PC?
The EEPC version is 5.1.8 on WinXP
and No, I am using the different installset...but shouldn't it be overwriting??
By the way, shouldn't uninstalling command work no matter what version I am using???
I am dealing with 3600 client pcs, but never seen this message before..
OK. Is there "SbClientLog.txt" file. Search boot drive if you are unsure where it should be (normally EEPC Client directory).
Please post that file if you find it.
Check Windows Event logs for messages related to your actions.
If EEPC Client did not activate yet, you could uninstall it and try installation again.
I attached the log file.
And my question was why I failed to run "SbSetup -uninstall" ,showing "unable to initailize seup"
EEPC Client has't been activated since the first installation.
SbClientLog.Txt.zip 563 bytes
For connectivity issues, check if you can ping and telnet to port 5555 of your EEM server.
Check also firewall settings.
1. Did you tried sbsetup -uninstall ?
2. Check safeboot client service in service.msc (i guess would not started)
I tried everything as far as I could, but failed..so, I got supported by McAfee engineer remotely, and fixed the problem.
They changed registies and forced to delete the Safeboot, but didn't want to share the knowledge because it's top secret
The cause may be error occured during installation.
Bear in mind when this kind of error occured, just call McAfee and get a help..
Anyhow, thanks you guys for your interest.
you are using a fixed ip address for your management server - are you sure you want to do that? Most people use a DNS name so they can move the server around in future if needed..
