I am a little bit puzzled by this case:
One of our user came to me to complain that his anti-virus was detecting a virus on his USB key from the office while his laptop at the office is not.
Office workstations are all equipped with VirusScan Enterprise 8.7.0i, engine 5400.1158, dat 6074.0000, and don't detect the virus profile :
W32/Autorun.worm!bf!8f3daaf6922f (see : http://home.mcafee.com/virusinfo/VirusProfile.aspx?key=187173#none )
I have downloaded the user anti-virus software that our user is using at home (Avast!).
I have been able to reproduce the problem, and now, I have an isolated laptop creating recursively a threat called Win32:AutoRun-ATQ, the alias name.
The most frustrating is while VirusScan is not even detecting it, Avast! is able to detect and clean it.
Any idea why the software that we are paying is not doing his job while a free one is able to do so (at least on this topic) ?
